Threadlock T171

T171 prevents loosening caused by vibration and will seal against leakage and corrosion. Bardahl Threadlock T142 adhesive will take the place of a wide variety of traditional and often ineffective, vibration proofing methods.

Applications: Bardahl Threadlock T171 eliminates the need for twin security nuts or welding of critical assemblies. Using Treadlock T171 allows a reduced casting thickness to be used, and eliminates castings being cracked due to interference stresses. The product viscosity allows usage on fine to medium threads for applications that do not require periodic strip down. Direction: Using Bardahl Threadlock T171 is easy to use and is colour coded blue to assist selection. Due to it’s chemical resistance it is ideal in applications such as a sealant for refrigeration plant, airconditioning, big plant and process equipment using corrosive chemicals. The application of heat may be required to assist in the removal of parts. Primers can be used. However up to 30% strength loss can occur when doing so. Ensure parts are clean, dry and free from oil and grease.
