Bardahl history

Ole Bardahl started the Bardahl Manufacturing Company in Seattle, Washington USA in 1939. He made a unique discovery that significantly extended the limits of the lubricating effect of an oil. He came to the conclusion that the molecular structure of motor oils could be changed by means of an oil additive in such a way that the oil could adhere better to the moving parts of the engine.

This is the beginning of Bardahl additives. Bardahl oils, additives and fuel additives are still the only ones with the unique 'Polar Attraction Formula'. ‘Polar Attraction Formula‘. This formula ensures adhesion to metal surfaces. This meant that a combustion engine could work more efficiently with less wear, friction and maintenance. As a result, the lubricating film made higher temperatures and pressures possible.
