Worm gear lubrication

Lubricating worm gearboxes requires a grease that can handle higher temperatures. A worm gear transmission is usually slow-running. However, due to the method of toothing, the temperature that arises is considerably higher than that of straight or oblique toothing.

The lubricant to be used must therefore have a heavy grease and high viscosity base oil. This grease is able to reduce friction and reduce the temperature, but cannot be 'pushed away'.
By using the right Bardahl grease you extend the service life of the worm gearboxes so that you have less costs for maintenance.
